Any students who drops a course, after the initial introduction session (Lesson 1), but does not want to continue, are entitled to full refunds, using the following guidelines.
All online courses will be correspondence based, meaning that students will progress at their own pace, taking all courses via the internet from their home or office (where ever your computer is). There will not be set start or ending dates. However students will be encouraged to complete the course in less than a year. We will do this by placing any student that has not completed the course in one year, on incomplete status. Without our being notified of any unusual circumstances, the incomplete will automatically change to Fail if not completed within 24 months of starting the course. Most individual courses will be able to be finished in a few weeks -- to a couple of months. So, we do not anticipate this being a big problem. To give you an example of what we are talking about; For example: let's say you have a class on machine maintenance. The course may start off in section one by explaining the need for a machine maintenance log and then shows how to make one. The student will then actually create a maintenance log for their machine(s) and provide actual recording on it for a set period of time. This log will then be sent to the instructor (this is what we call a instructor interaction) The instructor will make any comments to the log and respond back to the student. We encourage that all instructor responses be via email to keep costs to a minimum. After the student finishes section 1 of his course, they notify us and we give them instructions where to download section 2. Section 2 through 11 maybe tips on how to provide machine maintenance, efficiency, tuning, timing, oiling, etc. Each section is downloaded as the previous one is completed. In this example instructor interaction would not be required in sections 2->11. In section 12, the student would be asked to provide a maintenance log on their machine again and send it into the instructor (interaction #2). After the instructor reviews the log, the student gets a note from the instructor that they have passed if the maintenance log shows an improvement from the initial log. The above is just a simple example, but hopefully you will understand where we are going. Actual course structure, interaction and Pass/Fail measurements are up to the instructor or course developer. EmbroideryUniversity will provide all record keeping, and website hosting for downloading of course instructions. We currently do not plan to provide any type of "Degree" or "Accreditation". However we will provide certificates of completion. We have facilities already in place for multi-media discussions, chats or email list services to provide instructor and student support as may be required. We will attempt to assist in any way possible.
